 Sunderland University had outgrown its current London Campus and our brief was to provide additional space which was to be designed with the students experience at the forefront. It was important that the space was welcoming and comfortable but also designed and built with sustainability in mind. This space had to place the University against competitors as a leading choice for future students.
We designed & delivered a first class learning environment comprising of Lecture theatres, breakouts spaces, collaboration zones and agile seating / working areas. This included fundamental works such as M&E, flooring, partitioning, lighting as well as bespoke built-in furniture.
Before starting the DESIGN process, we consulted with the University to fully understand how the space needed to best work for students and staff alike. We understood that this space wasn’t a stereotypical campus and was to attract Post Graduate students in the competitive area of Canary Wharf. By fully defining the brief, we were able to design and deliver he right solution for the client
