Shifts in the way that employees are working are dramatically impacting the way that offices are designed and the types of furniture utilised in office fit-out and refurbishment projects. The growth of mobility and increasingly mobile office environments are meaning that designers are re-thinking layouts to meet changing needs.

In this instalment of our series of articles looking at office design trends, we explore how mobility is influencing office design.

How the Office is Evolving

Office spaces are becoming more innovative, flexible and creative in both design and function. Rather than being confined to traditional desks or cubicles we have witnessed instead the growth of collaborative spaces and breakout areas utilising creative soft seating designs. These seating solutions mean that the entire office becomes a place for working.

The modern workplace is about the sharing of information and the mutual creation of ideas. This is increasingly possible with mobile office spaces and the comprehensive access to internet. Office furniture and office design is harnessing this change to create amazing looking creative spaces transforming offices into engaging places to work benefitting both productivity and output.

Here are some examples of our favourite collaborative furniture that have become popular as a result of more mobile employees.
